Sonic the Hedgehog directed by Jeff Fowler is the first game I’ve seen to break the videogame curse. The film centers around donut lord James Marsden as Tom Wachowski and his journey to be responsible for saving lives instead of babysitting as a small-town sheriff. The alien hedgehog Sonic (Ben Schwartz) and Jim Carrey’s “Dr. Robotnik” is truly amazing. Jim Carrey owned his character and I cannot see anyone else playing him now. This movie turned out better than I anticipated. I was initially skeptical due to the initial design of Sonic. The Easter eggs and musical score was in tune with the character and plot. This is a great family film and hits the heart with what’s important in life. We want friends: We want to be needed: We want to be loved. There is still more to be explored in the character and franchise. I hope to see more and hopefully a chilidog.
